Stay Focused
Something that has bothered me over the years is that, with
all my varying interests, I have never spent enough time to truly appreciate
them. I always start out with the best of intensions and then quickly get
sidetracked or distracted with something new. I never get to the point
where I am good enough to enjoy the topic, much less remember anything the next
time I decide to come back to it.
I put some thought into this and decided that a month might be a good amount of time to dive into a project and still be able to retain some of that knowledge for when I come back to it. I plan on dedicating some time to a specific interest every day of the month, even though it may not be a lot of time each day. I plan on building up to a tough but attainable goal, that I set at the beginning, and seeing how many months in a row I can reach the goals.
Will I have mastered any of these things by the end of the month? No, but at least I will have put in the effort to get better and learn them. If I like a certain topic enough to try it again, I will do that. I might also find that I don't like certain things, and that is fine too, at least a gave them a fair shot.
Below are links to the posts for specific months and what the project of interest was. I have also added the list of topics (in no particular order) that I would like to get to sometime in the future. I would be happy to hear comments about what I could do better, tips/tricks that made you better or even if you decided to follow along with me.
